Every session is built upon the same framework, because a predictable structure lets a nervous kid relax and learn.

Sessions incorporate a review of the material already learned. Then one new concept is taught explicitly and practiced during the session. Reading is real text based upon what the student can already decode, so there’s no guessing. Sessions are built for your child and feature topics they are interested in. Students feel like an athlete finishing a workout tired but accomplished!

Who a single session helps

Some families book one session before a big test, during a rough patch, or to see how their child responds to this kind of teaching. One session won’t remediate a reading or spelling gap. Structured literacy works because it’s cumulative, over months. If your goal is real change, the quarterly program is where that happens.

About the instruction

Orton Gillingham tutoring sessions are taught by Tracy Young, an Orton-Gillingham trained and ALTA-certified educational therapist. All materials are included, and modified to be age appropriate.

1. How long is this session? Fifty minutes, live online
2. What does my child need? A quiet space, internet connection, a device with a camera, a document camera, paper, pencil.  I provide the rest.

4. When are sessions?  Availability for an individual sessions are Monday early evening and Sunday afternoon.  After purchasing, you will receive a link to a sign up calendar.
